What Your GI-MAP™ Report Includes
The GI-MAP™ report is one of the most comprehensive stool analysis reports available. Here's what you'll see in your results:
1. Pathogens Section
Your report will show quantitative results for bacterial pathogens (including H. pylori and its virulence factors), parasitic pathogens (such as Giardia, Cryptosporidium, and Entamoeba), and viral pathogens (including Norovirus and Rotavirus). Each pathogen is measured with precise quantities so your practitioner can gauge severity.
2. Opportunistic Organisms
This section identifies bacteria and fungi that may be causing problems when present in excess, including Candida species, Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, and various other opportunistic organisms.
3. Normal/Commensal Bacteria
See the levels of your beneficial bacteria including Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium, Akkermansia muciniphila, Faecalibacterium prausnitzii, Roseburia, and more. Low levels can indicate dysbiosis requiring intervention.
4. Intestinal Health Markers
Key markers including Calprotectin (inflammation), Secretory IgA (immune function), Elastase-1 (pancreatic function), Steatocrit (fat absorption), Beta-Glucuronidase (detox/estrogen metabolism), and Occult Blood.
5. Antibiotic Resistance Genes
Detection of resistance genes for common antibiotics helps practitioners determine the most effective treatment approach.
