Yes. The GI-MAP™ Diagnostic Stool Test is a qualified medical expense under IRS Section 213(d). You can pay directly with your HSA or FSA debit card at checkout — it works just like a regular Visa or Mastercard.

Card declines can happen for a few reasons:

  • Your card issuer may not recognize our merchant category yet
  • Insufficient funds in your HSA/FSA account
  • Your plan may require pre-authorization for certain services

If declined, pay with a personal card and submit your itemized receipt to your HSA/FSA administrator for reimbursement.

Yes. Every purchase includes an itemized receipt with the provider name, service description, date, and amount — everything your plan administrator needs for substantiation.

Diagnostic lab tests ordered for a medical purpose are generally considered qualified medical expenses without an LMN. However, plan rules vary. If your administrator requests additional documentation, contact us and we can provide a detailed service description.

When you pay with your HSA or FSA card, the funds come from your pre-tax health account — meaning you effectively save your marginal tax rate on the purchase. If you pay out-of-pocket and get reimbursed, the same tax benefit applies.

HSA and FSA accounts are U.S. programs. Canadian customers with Health Spending Accounts (HSA) through their employer should check with their plan administrator, as eligibility depends on the specific plan. Our receipts include all information typically required for Canadian HSA claims.
